PURPOSE:To obtain a high definition picture with a minimum memory capacity by changing a compression rate of a memory in response to the mode in the image forming device having the memory when a double side image is formed. CONSTITUTION:Picture data are color-converted by a color converter 301 and when it is coded by a brightness coder 302 and a chromaticity coder 303, a compression rate of the picture data at double sided image forming is increased more than that at one side image forming. Then coded data for at least one side are compressed able to be stored in a picture memory 300 at one side image forming, and coded data for at least double sides are compressed able to be stored in the memory 300 at double sided image forming. When the stored data are decoded by a brightness decoder and a chromaticity decoder, the data are expanded corresponding to the compression rate and color-converted by a color converter to form an image on a recording medium. |
