Disclosed are an apparatus and a method of an adaptive ultra high definition multimedia streaming service based on cloud. The apparatus of an ultra high definition multimedia streaming service according to the present invention comprises: a request receiving unit which receives a service request from a user terminal; a service quality control unit which monitors the status of a network corresponding to the terminal and controls the quality of a multimedia source to be provided according to the user request; a virtual machine which receives a multimedia source in which the quality is controlled and executes the received multimedia source; an encoding unit which encodes an execution screen image of the multimedia source; and a service providing unit which transmits the encoded execution screen image to the terminal and provides a high definition multimedia streaming service. The present invention is designed to provide a high quality multimedia screaming service even in a low specification by using an ultra high definition multimedia streaming service apparatus based on cloud.
