Masonry work, in particular block masonry work comprising lightweight-concrete elements, a defined number of elements which are graduated to the same extent with respect to one another in terms of their coordination dimensions being connected together by means of a tension connection. In order to produce rising masonry work, the invention provides a system by which a multiplicity of lightweight-concrete elements are arranged in a course, reinforced-concrete brackets are inserted, as tension connections, into the depressions in the elements, and the lightweight-concrete elements are provided with mortar in both the vertical joints and the horizontal joints. <IMAGE>
