The present invention is based on the object of providing an arrangement in a railway wagon which consists of an extendable freight body (1, 3) and an underframe (2) which adjoins it, it being possible to connect the said freight body (1, 3) and the underframe (2) in such a way that both components absorb stresses which occur during transport. According to an advantageous embodiment, the freight body (1, 3) is attached to the underframe (2) by means of pairs of surfaces (9-16) which are located at the side walls and absorb longitudinal stresses, at least one locking device being arranged between the side walls (1, 3) of the freight body (1, 3) and the underframe and absorbing the cutting forces which occur between the two components. <IMAGE>
