The propeller or fan blade 1 comprises a blade 4 of multiple-layer fibre-bond design and a protective contour 5 attached along the leading edge 2 and/or trailing edge 3 of the blade. In order to hold the protective contour 5 on the blade so that it does not peel off after the impact of a large foreign body, eg a lump of ice or a bird, the protective contour 5 is sewn onto the blade 4 by means of threads 9. The threads 9 pass through a plurality of fibre layers of the blade 4.
