The vibrocompactor is composed partly of a magnetic circuit comprising a magnetic block (2), a coil (1) and a ferromagnetic core (3) which can move inside the coil and is connected to a rod (17) which ends in a ram plate (14). The core is held in its resting position by two opposing springs (9, 11) and a setting nut (10) which separates the two springs and is fixed onto the rod. When the coil is supplied alternately with an electric current, it induces a magnetic field which tends to attract the core in order to close the magnetic circuit, which creates a vibration of the rod by virtue of the springs which tend to return the core into its resting position. This vibrocompactor makes it possible to compact pasty materials such as concrete. <IMAGE>
