PURPOSE:To efficiently retrieve an illustrate sentence or sentence information which is directly related to a key word when a replaceable word/phrase exists within the illustrative sentence or a group of sentence information. CONSTITUTION:This electronic translator can display a desired phrase (sentence information) on a liquid display 32 by retrieving the phrase by pressing scene buttons 161 to 1610 or a key word button 23. In the case of retrieving the key word, even when there is the replaceable word/phrase which is coincident with the key word in the phrase displayed on the liquid crystal display 32 as the result of retrieving, particular display for replacing it with the key word is not executed so as to secure efficient retrieving which meets the intention of a user. |
