PURPOSE:To provide the light scattering and transmitting device which is simple in construction and excellent in mass productivity and cost effectiveness and with which uniformly scattered light is obtainable. CONSTITUTION:This light scattering and transmitting light source device 1 has a light scattering and transmitting element 2, a reflection element 4 disposed on the rear surface side thereof and a light source 3. The element 2 is composed of light scattering and transmitting body block regions GAMMA1 and GAMMA2. The respective regions GAMMA1, GAMMA1 have effective scattering irradiation parameter values E1, E2 (E1>E2). The far and near effect from the light source is negated by the various intensities of scatterability if the light is made incident from the flank on the side where the ratio occupied by the region GAMMA2 having the weak scatterability is large. The scattered exit light having uniform intensity is thus obtd. The materials produced by a molding process including a kneading stage for different refractive index materials (polymer matrix + particulate material, different polymer blends, etc.) are used for the respective light scattering and transmitting body blocks. The angle characteristic of the scattered light intensity is changed if the front side or rear side of the light scattering and transmitting element is provided with a means for correcting the exit direction of the scattered light. |
