PURPOSE:To provide an image enlarging device which generates an image with extremely small deterioration and small block distortion. CONSTITUTION:The devices are equipped with a block dividing circuit 1 which divides data on a source image into blocks, an MXM-point two-dimensional DCT2 which converts the source image block data into frequency components, a '0'-data adding circuit 3 which adds '0' data to the frequency components, a phase-shifting (N+1)X(N+1)-point two-dimensional inverse DCT5 which converts NXN enlarged image frequency components into (N+1)X(N+1) enlarged image block data, and an image reconstituting circuit 6 which reconstitutes an enlarged image by arranging blocks while finding the mean values of data at block ends of the enlarged image block data and data at block ends found from adjacent blocks. |
