Image processing method and system

Image processing method for colouring an image with colours of a group which is well harmonised or goes well together. Several colour groups, which each include several grouped colours and give an individually different mental effect or impression, are stored in a memory, and a specified colour group is selected from the number of stored colour groups, to colour the image with colours which are included in the colour group selected in this way. A system to implement the method described above is also provided. The system includes an image display device to display a colour image, a memory device to store several colour groups, which each include several grouped colours and give an individually different mental effect or impression, an area input device to define one or more areas which should be coloured with the desired colours, a colour input device to select a specified colour group from the number of colour groups and to identify particular colours which are included in the colour group selected in this way, and a colour management device to colour the areas with the specified colours which are identified using the colour input device.
