A honeycomb heater has a honeycomb structure having a large number of passages and at least two electrodes for energizing said honeycomb structure, provided on the honeycomb structure. A catalyst composition carried on the honeycomb structure, contains zirconia powder loaded with at least Rh before mixing with inorganic heat-resistant oxide and a rare earth element oxide. A catalytic converter has at least one or two main monolithic catalyst(s) and this honeycomb heater disposed upstream, downstream or between the main monolithic catalysts. |
