<p>A connector for cylindrical plastics tubes 1, 2 has a metallic inner member 3 with an outer diameter that is greater than an inner diameter of the ends 4 of the plastics tubes. The inner sleeve member has a free end 8 and a securing flange 9 positioned opposite the free end and, on an outer surface, has at least one circumferential rib 10 of a substantially rectangular cross-section. A sliding sleeve 15 has an inner surface that, beginning at the leading end and ending at the rearward end, has sequentially: a first conically-narrowing zone 12, a second conically-narrowing zone 14, a cylindrical zone 15, a third conically-narrowing zone 16, and a cylindrical zone 17. When the sleeve 15 is pushed over the end 4 of the tube, which has the inner sleeve member 3 therein, a deformation of the plastics material is created to hold the end of the tube 4 securely. <IMAGE></p> |
