PURPOSE:To perform smooth operation and display easy to see corresponding to the arrangement state of an image forming apparatus having an operation panel for the state display and operation input of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:In an image forming apparatus 1 equipped with an image forming mechanism forming an image on a sheet, a control part controlling the image forming mechanism and an operation panel 5 having a display panel and an operation indicating key, the control part alters the display direction of the operation panel 5 corresponding to the arrangement direction of the apparatus 1 or attaches the operation panel 5 to the arbitrary attaching part among a plurality of the attaching parts 60-62 provided in the apparatus 1. |
