PURPOSE: To quickly perform repeatable and accurate side adjustment, with a simple means, by improving a side gauze device of an insertion plate of a printer. CONSTITUTION: A side gauge device is provided with a side gauge main body 19, supported movably in a direction perpendicular to a sheet feeding device, and surface members (metallic thin plates 22, 23, 24 and 25) fixed to the side gauge main body parallel to the moving direction of a side gauge of the side gauge main body. The side gauge device is further provided with surface members which are mechanically fixed parallel to those surface members and fixed to those surface members, and these surface members extend over the entire adjustment path of the side gauge, and the surface members are movable. A means is provided for releasing frictional contact by moving the movable members in a direction mutually toward and away and applying a vertical force between the mechanically fixed surface members and the surface members provided on the side gauge member. |
