PURPOSE: To provide a needle holder assembly comprising a release mechanism for smoothly releasing a needle holder from a retracted position to an extended position, and an engagement and fixation mechanism for permanently engaging and fixing a needle holder in the extended position. CONSTITUTION: Needle holder assembly 10 comprises sleeve 30 for slidably accepting needle holder 20 mounted to needle assembly 5. After humor specimen is collected by using needle holder assembly 10, needle holder 20 is slid from its initial retracted position to a permanently engaged and fixed extended position. The used needle in the extended position is kept in sleeve 30 of needle assembly 5 and is disposable. Needle assembly 5 comprises a mechanism for smoothly releasing needle holder 20 from a retracted position to an extended position; a mechanism for improving the permanent and certain engagement and fixation of needle holder 20 to the extended position; and humor collecting path 33 provided around the end of sleeve 30 for preventing humor from splashing out of the end of needle assembly 5 when sleeve 30 is fixedly engaged in needle holder 20. |
