<p>The invention concerns a linear apparatus for testing motor vehicle steering which comprises a support 12 susceptible to translation between two extreme positions 13, 14 and bearing two opposed and coaxial heads 21 for gripping the opposite ends and manoeuvring the steering, and a motor apparatus for translation of the support 12 with heads 21 between said extreme positions 13, 14. The motor apparatus is connected to the translating support 12 with the interposing of at least one loading cell 25 for the measurement of the forces applied to the steering through said heads and for supplying the signals indicative of the functional/structural characteristics of the steering itself.
