<p>PURPOSE:To provide the solid golf ball which has been provided with an excellent sense and spinning characteristics without impairing its trajectory flying distance and has been improved in the controllability by an iron club by specifying the value obtd. by dividing the core hardness of the solid golf ball by ball hardness and the cover thickness of the ball to specific values. CONSTITUTION:The value obtd. by dividing the core hardness by the ball hardness is specified to the 1.00 to 1.20 range and the cover thickness to 185 to 2.35mm. The cover having <=60 deg. Shore D hardness is used. Further, the value obtd. by dividing the spin quantity at the time of hitting the ball with a pitching wedge by the spin quantity at the time of hitting the ball with a driver and the value obtd. by dividing the above value by the ball hardness are specified to the 1.0 to 1.5 range. This golf ball has the excellent feeling and spin characteristics while maintaining the flying distance intrinsic to the solid golf ball and is capable of 'pinpointing a pole'.</p> |
