In order to be able to assemble a fire stop in a simple manner at the location of use, without impairing its safety functions, from individual elements (1) to form a stable unit, said individual elements are provided with a groove (5) on mutually facing end sides. Each groove (5) is lined by a U-shaped receiving profile (7). Legs (8) of the receiving profile (7) are angled off outwards in the plane of the respective end side of the individual elements (1).
