In oscillating welding torches which realise the oscillating movement of the torch nozzle by electromagnetic coils directly at the universally swivellable torch segment, it has been found that the magnetic fields which can be produced by conventional coils are not strong enough to attract the torch neck of the torch segment without delay or inaccuracies. The novel oscillating welding torch is intended to permit the swivelling movement of the torch neck from the one oscillating end position into the opposite oscillating end position even over a larger air gap between the torch neck and the respective electromagnetic coil. According to the invention, a web plate 7 of ferritic material is allocated to each electromagnetic coil 6.
