PURPOSE: To insert or exclude a terminal to/from a network without causing confusion in data for the network. CONSTITUTION: To the main serial loop (SO, SI, PO, PI and 26) of talk ring network, a local loop (50) provided with a medium access control means (52) and the terminals (18', 30' and M') is formed, a main token added to a frame transmitted by the main serial loop is received by the terminal, and the terminal is inserted to the main serial loop by utilizing the main token.
