PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of pointing operation in the manufacture of the image sensor by decreasing the number of driving ICs of an input circuit while suppressing the number of channels of an output circuit to nearly the same extent as before. CONSTITUTION:While 1760 sensor elements 14 are sectioned into 110 small blocks (B1-B110) each consisting of 16 elements, the respective small blocks are further sectioned into large blocks (DB1-DB11) each consisting of 10 blocks. Each small block is provided with one selecting circuit 18 composed of two diodes 16a and 16b for switching and a resistance R, and one end of the resistance R is connected to a power line of +5V. The selecting circuit operates as an AND circuit and selects specific small blocks according to a voltage applied between the cathodes of the two diodes for switching to read out electric charges accumulated in its photodiode 10. |
