PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently inactivate an esterase in the production of glutaryl-7-aminocephalosporanic acid from cephalosporin C using a material containing a D-amino acid oxidase. CONSTITUTION:An esterase is inactivated by contacting a material containing a D-amino acid esterase with a Cu compound. The D-amino acid oxidase- containing material contacted with the Cu compound is used in the production of glutaryl-7-aminocephalosporanic acid from cephalosporin C using a material containing a D-amino acid oxidase. A liquid containing cephalosporin C and a material containing a D-amino acid oxidase is made to contact with a Cu compound. |
