PURPOSE:To easily form a color recording image of high quality by a simple device. CONSTITUTION:A heat signal having temp. equal to or higher than the phase transfer temp. corresponding to image data is applied to an image carrier composed of a temp. sensitive phase transfer polymeric mixture layer 2 held to a uniform phase state at temp. lower than phase transfer temp. and generating phase separation at temp. higher than the phase transfer temp. to form a latent image consisting of a phase separation area and a uniform phase area on the image carrier. The image carrier is rapidly cooled to fix the phase state of the phase separation area and a colorant solns. different in colorant adsorbing capacity with respect to the phase separation area and the uniform phase area are supplied to the formed latent image to form a developed image due to the colorant corresponding to image data and transfer paper 16 is brought into contact with the image carrier to transfer the developed image to the transfer paper 16. |
