发明名称 DEVICE FOR MODULATING LASER LIGHT AMPLITUDE
摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a device which makes it possible to greatly increase the usable amount of modulated optical energy while maintaining the output from a laser light source at a definite rate. CONSTITUTION: A laser light beam 12 is divided into two beams 16 and 18 by using an interferometer technology. One 16 of the beams is directed along a firs optical passage B having a definite length while the other beam 18 is direction along a second optical passage C having an adjustable length. The length of the second optical passage C is changed with a mirror assembled product 20 mounted on a lump of piezoelectric material 24. The length is controlled with a modulation signal equivalent a required information signal 1. In the case when the two optical beams 16 and 18 are reunited on the final ends of the first and second optical passages, the change in the length of the second optical passage is an adjustable displacement phase of the second optical beams to the first optical beam. More specifically, it is a modulation signal which depends on the accurate point of the reunification of the first and second optical beams. The combination effects of adjustable displacement phases of the first and second light beams is a vector-like addition. A synthetic laser light beam 22 after this vector-like combination is modulated about the strength (amplitude) thereof with the modulation signal.
