<p>The wound dressing (2) includes a layer of backing sheet material (4) having an adhesive (6) on the bottom surface thereof and a release paper (8) releasably attached to the adhesive. The backing sheet material (4) has a first portion (10) which is intended to be positioned directly over the wound identified by the letter 'W'.
