Device for regulating the outflow of a tapping ladle in steel production

A device consisting of a regulating plug insertable into the outflow hole serves for regulating the outflow or outflow behaviour of tapping ladles. This regulating plug has a cylindrical basic body consisting of a plastic fireproof material which is arranged between two mutually displaceable plates, in such a way that, during displacement, the fireproof mass is pressed against the inner wall of the outflow hole and to that extent closes the latter. Provided in the middle of the basic body is a funnel channel which adjoins the upper funnel-shaped pressure plate and which cuts through the entire basic body. A jigging device can be introduced through this funnel channel and be used for pressing. This always identical tube of the funnel channel accordingly guarantees an opening rate which is always identical, thus appreciably improving the mode of operation of such a tapping ladle or a regulating device. <IMAGE>
