A vent plug (1) for allowing air into and/or out of pneumatic drive housings, in particular, has a screw-in nipple (4) which has at least one opening (8, 9) at each end and an axial air-inlet passage (7) which connects the openings (8, 9), and a cap (3) which is placed over at least one of the openings, the cap (3) and the screw-in nipple (4) being connected positively to one another by way of engagement elements, and free spaces (13) for connecting the air-inlet passage (7) to the external atmosphere furthermore being provided between the end surface of the cap (3) and the outer surface of the screw-in nipple (4). According to the invention, radial projections are formed in such a way inside the cap (3) that the free spaces (13) extend axially between the projections (12), the engagement elements (15) on the cap being provided on the radially inward-facing surfaces of the projections (12). <IMAGE>
