PASTE COMPOSITION FOR DENTAL ADHESIVE AND DENTAL ADHESIVE

A paste composition for dental adhesives, which comprises: (a) a methyl methacrylate/styrene/butadiene copolymer, (b) an acidic monomer, (c) a monomer mixture composed of polyfunctional and monofunctional monomers, and (d) fine inorganic particles, and a dental adhesive comprising the above composition and a polymerization initiator. This adhesive has improved physical properties and adhesive strength against tooth substances, in particular, dentin and cementum, which have been required of the dental adhesives as the essential features. Further it has a remarkable advantage such that it does not damage vital pulp and hence can be applied to vital teeth. The use of this adhesive serves to seal the defective part of a tooth substance without fail and to maintain vital teeth for long.
