摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To correct a picture element defect, and enable normal color to be displayed by specifying the forming material of TFT gate electrodes respectively connected to a display picture element electrode for entering a display signal corresponding to the prescribed color, and to remaining display picture element electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The gate electrode 18 of a thin film transistor (TFT) connected to a red picture element (R) and a blue picture element (B) is made of a continuous conductive material 15 and another conductive material 14 covered with the material 15. The gate electrode 19 of a green picture element (G) is made of the conductive material 15 only. One of display signals corresponding to each color of R, G and B is applied to each signal line 10, and a display picture element electrode is set at the same potential as a visual signal during a switching period. Thereafter, when voltage not to select a scanning line 9 is applied to the gates, the display picture element electrode holds applied voltage over a period to the next selection. As a result, a potential difference corresponding to the display signal is applied to liquid crystal and the green picture element (G) becomes free from a luminescent point defect, thereby improving the display quality of a whole screen.</p>
