Several breakpoints associated with T-cell neoplasia have been mapped to the tcl-1 locus. Accordingly, probes have been made available that can be used for the diagnosis of a chromosomal abnormality occurring in the tcl-1 locus, wherein the or each probe hybridises with human chromosome 14q32.1 in an area of 300-450 kb spanning the AT581 and ALL320 breakpoints and spanned by the proximal probe 7-25 (centromeric) and the distal probe 21-2 (telomeric). |
