<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate erroneous mounting, no lighting of lamp, breakage accident, etc., when a lamp is to be mounted on a luminaire by displacing the locational relationship of two fitting pins protruded to the side surface of the metal cell part of a base, vertically in the tube axial direction, and by setting a corresponding receiving metal to a predetermined fitting position. CONSTITUTION:A metal skirt part 11 is fixed to the opening part of the other bulb 1 of a metal halide lamp, and a cylindrical insulator 12 is fitted to the metal skirt part 11. The skirt part 11 and the end part of the insulator 12 are integrated together and fixed by caulking 13, and a base 10 forming a metal cell part 14 is thus fixed. A pair of conducting holes 15a, 15b is formed on the insulator 12 vertically in parallel to a tube axis, and supporting conductors 3a, 3b are inserted into the conducting holes. Terminal parts 16a, 16b are formed by welding the end parts of the conductors. Socket fitting pins 17, 18 are provided in an integrated manner with the insulator 12, on the outer peripheral surface of the shell part 14 of the base 10 while the pins are protruded to the side surface and their positions are differed from one another vertically. The base 10 can be mounted correctly in the socket by providing receiving fittings so as to correspond to each of the pins 17, 18 on the socket to be fitted to the base 10 and thus to be mounted.</p> |
