PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display element low in visual angle dependence ability and capable eliminating contrast change, coloring and inversion phenomenon and obtaining high contrast without uneven display. CONSTITUTION:The oriented films 10, 11 contain spherical or almost spherical crystals so that a liquid crystal layer 12 in contact with the oriented films 10, 11 has radially oriented areas produced corresponding to the surface state of the films 10, 11. Thereby, each area of the radially oriented areas of the liquid crystal layer 12 is freely oriented in any direction so that the visual angle dependence ability is almost eliminated. |
