Method for releasing and extracting from the borehole in which it is fixed an anchor of the type including a tensioning tie held at its end inside the borehole by a sealing lump consisting of solidified binder. An appropriate means (14) is used to destroy the central part (16) of the sealing lump (7), causing decompression which deglomerates the binder (10) around the end of the tensioning tie (5) and thus allows the latter to be released and the anchor (3) to be removed.
