Chimney attachment for discharging, in particular, flue gases

Known flue-gas chimneys with ventilation ducts which open beneath an expansion-joint plate have disrupted air guidance, and condensation and corrosion of the expansion-joint plate occur. The novel chimney attachment is intended to form a solid termination and provide better ventilation for the chimney. A covering plate (6) with inner ventilation chamber (18) with central opening (24) protects the upper chimney opening and ventilation ducts (9) against weathering. After the attachment of an end pipe (3) onto the covering plate (6), a plug-in pipe (2) with a collar (16) integrally formed on at the upper end, in the mounted position, is pushed through the end pipe (3) and the central opening (24) into an expansion-joint socket (4). The end pipe (3) has an internal diameter exceeding the external diameter of the plug-in pipe (2) and forms an interspace (22). It is closed towards the top since the collar (16) of the plug-in pipe (2) bears on the end pipe (3). The end pipe (3) exhibits openings (13) which penetrate its wall. Undisrupted air flow from the ventilation ducts (9) via the ventilation chamber (18), through the central opening (24), into the interspace (22) and through the openings (13) to the outside is achieved. The chimney attachment ensures sufficient ventilation of the chimney and is resistant to corrosion. Assembly is simple. <IMAGE>
