In a known fully active vehicle suspension between the chassis of a passenger car and the wheel hub, there are provided parallel to the vehicle suspension springs actuating elements of variable length in the form of adjustable hydraulic cylinders which are comparatively complicated and cost-intensive. In an active suspension, especially a driver's cab suspension (1) of a commercial vehicle, there is proposed, in addition to the known active cylinder (4) and the suspension spring (5) arranged parallel to this, on the top side an elastic element, for example in the form of a helical spring (7), a rubber block (8) or a hydropneumatic suspension (11) which is connected to the driver's cab (2). The active cylinder (4) possesses an acceleration sensor (12) which is arranged at the upper end of the piston rod (6) or, in general, at the mass-side fastening point of the active cylinder (4) or on a component fixedly connected to the mass-side fastening point. <IMAGE>
