PURPOSE:To enable transistor failure diagnosis both safely and accurately in simple constitution without installation of a circuit for limiting current to transistors as diagnostic switching means and without opening of an air bag. CONSTITUTION:A failure diagnostic device comprises an actuation means 6 in which power is supplied by first and second transistors 5, 8 both operating simultaneously and a crash protection means is actuated by the current exceeding a prescribed value and a diagnostic means 21 in which the first transistor 5 and the second transistor 8 are operated separately one after the other and a potential change in operation and non-operation of the each transistor is detected, so that failure diagnosis of the transistors is made. |
