PURPOSE:To mitigate shock of switching ranges by outputting an idle-up signal according to the type of engine load, and by increasing/decreasing the line pressure according to the type of the engine load when automatic idle-up is to be carried out according to the increase in the engine load. CONSTITUTION:The output of an engine 1 is transmitted to a transmission mechanism 4 through the torque converter 3 of an automatic transmission 2. The oil discharged from an oil pump 5 driven by the torque converter 3 is pressure-fed to an oil pressure controller 6, and each friction factor of the transmission mechanism 4 is thus controlled. The solenoids 31-34 of the oil pressure controller 6 are controlled by an A/T controller 30 based on the output signals from the sensors 13-15 for detecting the drive condition of the engine 1 and from the loads 21-23 driven by the engine 1. When the loads are increased, an idle-up signal corresponding to the type of the load, namely, an air control switch 21, a power steering 22 and an oil temperature sensor 23, is output. |
