<p>PURPOSE:To stably control tracking by generating a tracking error signal on the basis of a pilot signal recorded on a helical track reproduced by a pair of heads. CONSTITUTION:There are two heads H1, H2 provided adjacent to each other with different +, - azimuth angles at the circumferential side face of a rotary drum 11. When the drum 11 is rotated once and the heads H1, H2 trace on a magnetic tape, two helical tracks are simultaneously formed on the magnetic tape in this one scanning. When the magnetic tape is recorded, image signals P1, P2 to be fed to the heads H1, H2 are supplied to input terminals 12, 13, to which a pilot signal 16 is added by adder circuits 14, 15. A pilot signal generating circuit 16 outputs pilot signals f1, f2 of different frequencies alternately for every scanning. The signals f1, f2 are alternately added to the image signals P1, P2, supplied to the heads H1, H2 through recording amplifier circuits 17, 18 through a recording/reproducing switch 19 to be recorded onto the magnetic tape.</p> |
