A switch which is in the form of a box and equipped with additional units or multifunctional additional devices which can be connected on the front, the intention being that the housing body of the switch has a flat surface on the front as a mounting, which flat surface is bounded by the sides (a) and (b) and that the operating lever of the switch projects from the flat mounting surface, that threaded holes are provided to correspond with at least two parallel sides of the mounting surface, and that at least one side which bounds the mounting surface has openings for insertion, that the cover or the additional unit or the additional device also has or have on the bottom a surface which is bounded by the sides (a) and (b), and that fastening lugs, which can be inserted to correspond with one side of the cover, are provided for the likewise provided openings in the housing body of the switch, and that the cover or the additional units have continuous holes for the insertion of mounting devices, and that the continuous holes in the cover match holes which are produced to correspond with the two parallel opposite sides in the mounting surface of the housing body of the switch. <IMAGE>
