The invention relates to a device for metering liquids in which solids and coarse substances are contained. The main field of application of the device is in the area of agriculture and there in the metering of liquid manure. The aim of the invention is to design a valve in which no coarse substances can collect at edges, good adjustability is possible, and other faults can be avoided by rapid opening of the valve without the presetting of the metering being lost. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the edge being arranged at the pipe branch in such a way that the liquid flushes the same clear in the main flow direction, the quantity to be metered is set via a toggle-lever joint, and the entire cross-section of the pipeline is cleared by fully opening the opening handle across the dead centre of the toggle levers.
