In the region of the wall (WB), there are arranged, like a matrix (SP/ZE), electrical, insulated conductors (L) to which are connected in the intersection region transmitting and receiving sensors (S) which can be driven in a controlled manner, and at the image (B) there is arranged at least one electronic circuit (IC) with a receiving and transmitting device (ES) in the detection range (measuring range) of a sensor (S), the electronic circuit (IC) being activated by the assigned sensor (S) and being made to transmit a specific response signal. For this purpose, all the electrical conductors (L) are connected to a control and evaluation device (SAE) which regularly interrogates the electronic circuits (IC) and transmits an alarm message (AL) if a response signal fails to appear. The transmitting and receiving sensor (S) and the receiving and transmitting device (ES) of the electronic circuit (IC) are formed by induction coils, it being possible to supply the electronic circuit, during the interrogation, with the necessary power by means of the induction field. <IMAGE>
