PURPOSE:To form a three-dimensional article model free from strain while holding a three-dimensional article in the hardest state by suppressing the uncured material remaining in the article to the min. CONSTITUTION:In a method for producing a three-dimensional article by successively exposing layers each composed of an optical shapable compsn. one at a time using a computer, the respective layers are twice subjected to image shape modulation in order to form a series of separated and fixed small islands 32 and further subjected to additional modulation to be subjected to first exposure and subsequently subjected to second exposure only of image shape modulation without being subjected to additional modulation to cure the semi-cured regions 34 between the small islands to reduce strain generated by internal stress at a time of exposure.
