PURPOSE:To obtain a binding string, better in solid feeling than that of a binding string having a flat surface and capable of performing a beautiful and new way of tying, a method for producing the binding string and its apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Flexible tapes (2a) an (2b) fused to both upper and lower surfaces of a wiry material 1 having flexibility are formed into a wavy or a pleated shape. The flexible tapes (2a) and (2b) are preferably fused into the wavy or pleated shape while being fed in a larger amount than the length of the wiry material 1. On the other hand, the apparatus for producing this binding string is constructed so as to enable the feeding of the wiry material 1 in one direction while tensioning the wiry material with tension rollers 3, guiding of the respective, flexible tapes (2a) and (2b) through feed regulation rollers 4, 4, etc., to both the upper and lower surfaces of the wiry material 1, fusing of the tapes with fusing rollers 5, further pulling in of the flexible tapes (2a) and (2b) fused with the fusing rollers 5 in the same direction while pressurizing the flexible tapes (2a) and (2b) with pull rollers 6 and winding of the flexible tapes (2a) and (2b) with a winding roller 7. |
