PURPOSE: To obtain a crimped acrylic fiber resistant to outdoors coating and having durability to hydrocarbon and chemicals by specifying the diameter, minimum length, L/D and crimp ratio of the crimped acrylic fiber. CONSTITUTION: In this crimped acrylic fiber the diameter is defined as smaller than 1.0, the minimum length as 0.5-3 mm, the minimum L/D as 20-5, and the crimped ratio as larger than 3%, preferably about 30-50%. A crimp is induced by texturing method. The obtained fiber increases the viscosity of a resin system and improves the toughness or the like thereof. |
