PURPOSE:To provide an excellent control method for the on-vehicle audio equipment in which other passengers other than a talking party enjoy information such as music from a speaker and the talker keeps the privacy state of talking even when a mobile telephone set is in use. CONSTITUTION:The on-vehicle audio equipment provided with plural speakers 20a-20d and with a sound volume adjustment means adjusting a sound volume outputted from the speakers 20a-20d and mounted on a vehicle is provided with detection means 40a-40d detecting a signal radiating from a mobile telephone set 30 in the vehicle during its talking state and generating a detection signal and with a control means 11 giving a command of muting a sound volume of a speaker closest to the mobile telephone 30 among the plural speakers 20a-20d to the sound volume adjustment means in response to the detection signal.
