A piece of building equipment (4) is fastened, at a distance above the ground, on an, in particular, masonrywork building wall (3). For this purpose, use is made of a retaining bar (8) or the like which passes through the building wall (3). At the end opposite the piece of equipment (4), the retaining bar (8) bears a securing part (14) which secures the retaining bar (8) against being pulled out towards the side of the piece of equipment (4). The securing part (14) is assigned a supporting stand (15) which is positioned on the ground (1) and is fastened thereon, with the result that, in the direction of the building wall (3), it is stable. The supporting stand (15) extends upwards on the building wall and forms a supporting section (16) which bears against the building wall (3) and supports the securing part (14). <IMAGE>
