PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic concentration meter which can use such a piezoelectric element as an element composed of a piezoelectric ceramic, etc., and can measure the concentrations of two or more components. CONSTITUTION:An exciting signal A composed of a prescribed number of pulses is generated by means of a measuring timing signal circuit 4, trigger circuit 5, burst wave circuit 6, and pulse generation circuit 7 at one measuring time. Then ultrasonic burst waves are generated by inputting the signal A to an oscillation-side piezoelectric element 2. A reception-side piezoelectric element 3 receives the burst waves propagated trough a sample liquid in a sample bath 1 and a high-speed digital peak hold circuit 8 detects the maximum value of the burst waves. An acoustic velocity measuring circuit 20 measures the acoustic velocity of the burst waves. An arithmetic circuit 9 calculates the concentrations of two components from the maximum amplitude and acoustic velocity of the burst waves based on simultaneous equations. Or, the circuit 9 calculates the concentrations of multiple components from the acoustic velocity and maximum amplitude at each frequency by changing the frequency of the burst waves in accordance with the number of the components. A recorder 10 records the calculated results. |
