发明名称 RECONSTRUCTIBLE TORUS NETWORK SYSTEM
摘要 PURPOSE:To attain the multiuser application of an n-dimentional torus network, a high speed and global operation, and the broadcast processing by dividing the torus network into subunits in regard of a reconstructible system of parallel computers connected together via the torus network. CONSTITUTION:A torus is obtained by folding an n-dimensional torus network by (n) times and then buried into an n-dimensional layer. Thus, a long return path which is always included in the torus network is shortened by an interleave connection means 1. A switch means 2 provides a switch on the folded point of the torus folded by the means 1. Then a switching means 3 divides the torus network constructing the parallel computers into plural subunits or connects these subunits together by switching the switch provided on the folded point of the torus. In such a constitution, the communication is performed at a high speed between the long-distance processor elements by means of a communication path connecting the switches, and a global operation and the broadcast processing can be carried out at a high speed.
