PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE PARTS WITH GUIDE GROOVES FOR PIN FITTING

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the process for stable production of the optical waveguide parts inscribed with guide grooves for pin fitting in correct positions. CONSTITUTION:A flush waveguide 18 of a flat surface constituted by embedding waveguide cores 17a in a clad 16 is formed on a substrate 15 and marker parts 19a, 19b are formed on the surface of the flush waveguide 18 with the waveguide cores 17a as a reference for positioning. The guide grooves for pin fitting are then inscribed with these marker parts 19a, 19b as a reference for positioning.
