PURPOSE: To establish a voice link between an agent who works at his home and a customer in a telephone order system and to simultaneously allow the agent to access a database that exists in a transaction processing center that is located away from there. CONSTITUTION: A regional exchange carrier central office which offers service to the customer 14 first receives a call from the customer 14 and transfers it to a 1st exchange 20. The destination of the call is confirmed by a 1st regional telephone exchange 21 and when the call is directed to a transaction processing center 16, it is transferred to a 2nd exchange 24 through a public telephone network 22. The exchange 24 provides service to a 2nd regional exchange service 26, the service 26 further provides service to specific agents 12 who work at their homes and are identified as a one who can receive the call. When the call from the customer 14 is transferred to a specific home agent 12, the agent 12 accesses a database in the center 16 and deals with the order of the customer 14.
